Staffordshire County Council spends over £500m pa on purchasing services and supplies.
This role will provide effective management of all procurement activity across the County Council relating to an allocated portfolio of expenditure, delivering recurring cost efficiencies, best value and continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring
You will be a key source of technical knowledge, and a problem-solver focused on delivering value for money, efficiency, timely procurement advice, and leading strategic procurements across the whole of the organisation, ensuring procurement activity operates in a way which is integral to the achievement of the County Council’s overall ambition, strategic corporate objectives, and priorities.
What you’ll have
- demonstrable experience of working in a procurement and commercial environment with a track record of delivering end to end procurement projects and cost efficiencies
- experience of working in a regulated procurement environment and an excellent working knowledge of Public Sector procurement legislation / practice
- the adaptability to manage a wide scope and variety of portfolio spend areas
- a commercially awareness and ability to lead / influence a wide range of project stakeholder groups
