Don’t just build a future.
Enable cutting-edge tech.
Join the team behind the Science Inside.
Here at Dstl, we keep the UK safe and secure with the latest science and technology. We’re a world-leader in our field with one aim – protecting lives. That means our work is incredibly varied, with real value and purpose. Behind that work is a team of thousands, with every member playing a critical role. As a Commercial Officer, you’ll join a diverse organisation where everyone’s contribution matters.
Day to day, you’ll be devising procurement strategies, supporting value for money tendering and managing supplier performance throughout the life of contracts. You’ll also act as a Supervising Practitioner, supporting key divisions.
For this busy, challenging role, you’ll need a commercial background and experience in sourcing and contract management. Highly detail-conscious, you have well-honed commercial judgment and always analyse evidence. You also thrive on challenges and understand the bigger picture at Dstl. And when it comes to finding the best business solutions for your customer, you always think innovatively.
We’re proud to foster an inclusive culture that values different backgrounds and perspectives. We also recruit by merit on the basis of fair and open competition.
As part of the Civil Service, Dstl embraces diversity and promotes equal opportunities. As such, we run a Disability Confident Scheme (DCS) for candidates with disabilities who meet the minimum selection criteria.
We offer a guaranteed interview for all disabled applicants who provide evidence in their application of meeting the minimum essential requirements of the post, set out in the job description. You will be asked to indicate if you are applying under this scheme when you submit your application.
