As part of its ongoing transformation to create a more globalized and efficient central procurement organization, this industry-leading FMCG firm is looking for a logistics procurement expert to join the team and deliver the global procurement strategy for its Air and Ocean freight spend. You will be working in a global Procurement centre of Excellence, delivery subject matter expertise to a logistics spend of approx. €140M and will have the challenge of implementing a centralized sourcing strategy for your logistics categories to be rolled out to all business units and operating sites globally. One of the key tasks will be to significantly reduce the existing number of logistics suppliers to create a more efficient portfolio of key suppliers.

The Global Logistics Procurement Manager for Air & Ocean should bring the following skills and experience into this role:

  • Expert knowledge of logistics operations, especially in EU multi-modal networks, with a good understanding of procurement process
  • Detailed knowledge of global air and ocean freight & cargo movement including LTL, FTL & Containers
  • Knowledge of Ocean freight market and trade lane capabilities
  • Functional expertise of TMS and TPS
  • Experience in utilizing data analytics and BI Tools to drive performance improvements and identify areas of opportunity
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in presenting to c-suite executives in a globally diversified business
  • Knowledge of relevant procurement tools such as EcoVadis, Transporeon and JDA
