FTSE100 Retailer seeks Category Manager - HR and Professional services - London / Coventry / WFH - £60,000 + 20% bonus and other package details

Award winning FTES100 retailer is rapidly expanding and are welcoming fresh procurement talent into their well-established and high functioning procurement function. They seek a bright and ambitious procurement category manager with expertise in the indirect sped, specifically HR and Professional Services to take on the challenge of driving the categories in a new direction.

The successful candidate will lead strategic category plans across a broad range of indirect categories, liaising and partnering with key business partners and stakeholders to understand commercial objectives. This is also a managerial position and you will be given the opportunity to shape junior members of the team. This is a great opportunity to expand your procurement knowledge and hone in on managerial skills

Experience across a range of different indirect categories, including but not limited to; HR, Professional Services, Fleet, FM, and IT will be beneficial for applying to this role.

As a Procurement Category Manager your Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a large spend across all indirect Procurement subcategories
  • Develop new strategies for business development and reporting to senior members as to how the company can develop the Procurement function further
  • Negotiate, and create relationships, with internal & external suppliers whilst developing a strong network for each particular market
  • Conduct deep research into HR and Professional Services category and identify how you can generate savings across them
  • Manage stakeholder relationships - ensuring a positive working relationship is in place

Key Skills & Experience Sought of a Procurement Category Manager:

  • Strong Indirect Procurement experience
  • Proven track record of managing a large spend and delivering savings
  • History of negotiating with the ability to influence decisions in your favour
  • Good communication skills with past experience managing supplier and stakeholder relationships
  • Friendly, driven person looking to maintain high standards and set an example for self as well as others
  • Degree level 2.1 or equivalent (desirable)
  • CIPS (desirable)
