Join this innovative social business as Procurement Manager and draw on all your professional experience of procurement and competitive tendering to make a real difference in the housing sector.

Raven is a business with a clear social purpose: building homes and changing lives in Surrey and Sussex. We aim to be an outstanding provider of homes, a cornerstone of the community and an innovative employer.

As Procurement Manager, you’ll oversee all Raven Housing’s procurement activity, including the organisation’s 3-year strategy and annual procurement plans and our drive to automate and standardise. You will lead on tendering activity across the business, supported by an Assets & Services Category Manager plus other procurement personnel, and be responsible for driving value for money, while ensuring our procurement processes are efficiently managed in line with the most up to date procurement legislation.

This is an opportunity for a recognised procurement professional (MCIPS or working towards) with at least 3 years’ experience, preferably in the public/social housing sectors. Having led a range of competitive tendering procedures at spend levels up to and above Find a Tender Services thresholds, you’ll be able to show evidence of delivering annual plans and long term strategies, advising contract managers on matters of compliance and supplier management, and realising cashable and non-cashable benefits.

The role calls for knowledge of e-procurement systems, Public Contracts Regulations, use of frameworks and dynamic purchasing systems. It requires strong IT, report writing, project management and all-round communication skills, together with previous experience of managing a team. You should also share our values: earning trust by being open and accountable, listening with an open mind, working collaboratively and caring about making things better.

We support and trust our staff to work as a team and be their best. We offer competitive salaries and benefits, a great pension scheme, paid holiday and sickness benefit, plus support for further training to develop your skills and career.
