We are currently recruiting a Category Manager to join the Procurement Team within the Resources and Place Delivery Directorate.  The Council’s Procurement team are responsible for sourcing goods, services and works utilised by the Council in the provision of vital services to the borough’s residents ranging from Social care, Housing, Education, Environment and Safety to Leisure and Culture.

 

The role will provide strategic as well as operational Procurement advice and support across the Council, within certain categories.  For this recruitment we are looking for someone ideally with Corporate Services (Finance/HR/ICT) experience. Category responsibility may change during the term of the employment.

The post holder will have experience of delivering Procurement and category management support on the full commercial lifecycle and all matters relating to Public Procurement. Comprehensive knowledge of the Public Procurement Regulations 2015 is essential.

You will develop and maintain strong working relationships with officers across the different service directorates, as well as with senior managers; to create and implement short, medium and long term Procurement strategies.
