Construction Buyer - Subcontracts

Global FMCG Major - Subcontracts Buyer - Warwick - £38-45k + Generous package

One of our key clients, a FTSE 100 global FMCG major is seeking a bright and ambitious procurement professional with a solid understanding of construction and subcontracts to join their team and embark on an exciting new journey working with new clients and brads across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to take ownership over a region for the subcontracting spend and manage a small team. You will be working hand in hand with the Category Manager managing the whole end to end procurement process whilst also developing your own progression plan throughout the business.

This role will have you working on some of the UK's most high profile, high spend projects giving you major exposure to different markets as well as exposure to some of the best procurement professionals in the industry.

As a Procurement Subcontracts Buyer you will:

• Management of the end to end procurement activities for the sourcing of subcontracts, materials, plant and equipment for various Living Places highways, maintenance and public realm contracts
• Using the Jaggaer e-procurement portal, development, and governance of package specific sourcing plans with project team, including RFIs/RFQs/RFPs
• Co-ordination, governance, and maintenance of Procurement Schedules, in conjunction with Commercial teams
• Support in negotiation of terms, conditions, and prices against tender allowances/target costs
• Process requisition orders and raise Purchase Orders in line with company procedures and delegated levels of authorities and expedite as required

You will have the following:

• An understanding of how to run end to end procurement projects from market research, through sourcing, to contract and supplier management
• Prior exposure to negotiating commercial deals and contractual terms and conditions
• Experience of planning and delivering against bid/project milestones
• Robust problem-solving skills and ability to use own initiative to identify areas of improvement and propose solutions
