Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) is a team of people who love and look after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world. We create space for spirits to stir and be stirred.

The past 2 years has significantly changed our focus to be more commercially aware as a charity and ensure we protect our income and spend across the organisation. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of our charity by influencing best procurement practices being adopted and learnt across the organisation by all teams.

Your key responsibility will be focussing on procurement and contracting activity covering an eclectic mix of categories including Information Systems, Digital, and Facilities & Maintenance, plus select cross site contracts.

This will involve providing a professional, flexible and efficient service ranging from the provision of advice and guidance for small and low risk activity to leading the management of procurement processes and contract negotiations for complex and higher value contracts, end to end.

You will be part of a team comprising two Procurement Managers and one Property Contracts Advisor who (along with you) all report to the Head of Procurement and Contracts within the Finance team Directorate.

About you

Strong planning, flexibility & multi-tasking skills, stakeholder management, commercial awareness and contract drafting abilities are needed to ensure success in this role, as is an awareness of framework contract offerings from providers such as Crown Commercial Services and the London Universities Purchasing Consortium.

You will have the opportunity to work flexibly across different sites (including a measure of home / hybrid working) with a choice of Hampton Court Palace or HM Tower of London as an office base.

Ideally, you will be MCIPS qualified, although this is not essential if deep practical experience and knowledge can be demonstrated.

Closing date:           23.55pm on 17th May 2022

Interviews:              May 2022, to include short written test and presentation
