Procurement & Contract Compliance Manager

Derbyshire County Council have an exceptional opportunity for a Procurement & Contract Compliance Manager to join County Procurement.

This role will be leading a recently established procurement & contract compliance team and is well suited to highly motivated positive individual who is seeking a real opportunity to make a difference and drive improvements into commercial practices across the whole organisation.

What will I be doing?

Reporting to the Head of Procurement you will be leading the team who are responsible for ensuring procurement and contract management compliance throughout the organisation.

You will:

  • manage the procurement & contract compliance team
  • drive continuous improvement in commercial practices across the procurement function and wider organisation  
  • lead and manage procurement and contract compliance across all areas of the organisation
  • established systems to manage and monitor procurement processes with the ability to interpret and implement new legislation or regulation changes
  • implement a framework for best practice contract management across the organisation
  • Provide commercial support to a range of users across the Council

What skills and experience do you need to have?

  • exceptional commercial skills
  • substantial experience of leading a team in a large organisation.
  • extensive knowledge, understanding and application of sourcing and procurement principles, systems, and contract management best practice
  • experience of operating at a senior level, managing and delivering change.
  • experience of supplier performance and relationship management
  • proven leadership skills to inspire, motivate and develop team members
  • excellent communication skills able to negotiate, persuade and influence outcomes critical to the business
  • ability to critically analyse and evaluate, weigh competing arguments, draw conclusions, and make recommendations
