Job Details

Providing innovative and cost-effective healthcare solutions is critical to sustaining mankind and the future generations. With the onset of the pandemic, NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) has played a critical role in delivering leading-edge healthcare services for the nation. Our teams have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the frontline colleagues to provide expert and quality care for our patients. Our ambition is to drive transformational change through authentic system leadership, nationally and internationally, by collaborating with other blood establishments in the Commonwealth to drive economies of scale.

Our commercial team plays a critical strategic role in negotiating commercial deals and create innovative solutions with our global suppliers. An exciting opportunity has now arisen to join our department in the clinical and medical (strategic) team which manages ca. £250 million of third party spend.

You will contribute to a variety of tenders and contract management which includes direct materials, equipment and managed services that are critical to our business. To be successful, you will ideally demonstrate procurement experience in either the public or private sector. Good knowledge of commercial law and public sector regulations will be an advantage. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and great interpersonal skills are important. With a drive and enthusiasm to achieve results you will be keen to develop your career. Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply is important although NHSBT will provide support to help students achieve Diploma status.

If you are excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of the healthcare for our nation whilst contributing to our unique purpose, we’d love to hear from you.
