The role will provide management and development of the procurement activity across the Council to maximise value for money, embed good practice, drive innovation, and deliver social value to deliver the best possible outcomes for local people. The post holders will advise service units on procurement and support them with tendering exercises via the procurement tender system In-tend. Working in full compliance with the Public Contract Regulations you will ensure legally compliant and robust contracts are established, minimising risk of challenge to the Council. The successful candidates must have experience in a busy Procurement environment and be able to demonstrate competence in a range of IT applications including Microsoft Office.

The successful applicants will have experience of working at a senior level dealing with Procurement legislation, concepts and principles, and hold or be working towards the CIPS qualification.

Site attendance will constitute no more than 40% of working time and includes the contractual 2 days per month.

The authority offers an excellent employment package with flexible working, a non-contributory health scheme, Local Government pension scheme and generous holiday entitlement.

Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, right to work in the UK check and medical clearance.
