Category Specialist - Global Blue-Chip - London/WFH - £50-60k - Indirect Categories

Global Blue-chip organisation is seeking an experienced Procurement category manager to enter a greenfield site and drive forward the, business-critical, HR and Professional services category. This role is suited to a highly-driven, motivated Procurement professional with experience in managing Indirect spend across the different services looking to take on the prestige of representing a well-renowned name whilst working out of their stylish London offices.

Being in charge of the indirect spend, strategic sourcing and contract management the Category specialist will become fully integrated within the company and assume a position in which they can implement real change and leave a personal impression in developing and implementing category strategy.

Category Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Controlling spend within direct procurement and ensuring that savings are maximised without compromising on quality and efficiency of products and service
  • Understanding the needs of senior stakeholders and customers whilst working in line with company procedure
  • Offer support, and deputise, for the Head of Procurement in leading staff
  • Negotiating new and existing contracts, ensuring the company is always receiving value for money out of current and potential deals
  • Providing innovative ideas to oversee and help implement future growth
  • Strategically planning areas for spend in the future whilst making key decisions to ensure any opportunities are capitalised on

Key skills and experience:

  • Experience of working in direct procurement with proven track record of consistently providing savings
  • History of managing staff
  • Strong track record in strategic planning
  • Positive and friendly personality, able to create strong working relationship
  • MCIPS (desirable but not essential)
  • Degree level 2.1 or equivalent (desirable but not essential)
