Senior Buyer - Leading Pharmaceutical Supplier - Birmingham - £40,000 + CIPS Funding

My client is a global name in the pharmaceutical industry, looking for a bright and dynamic individual to join their Procurement Function as a Senior Buyer. You will be making a career move into the Medical space, from a background in direct procurement in categories such as Manufacturing, Packaging, Ingredients, Chemicals and Construction etc.

You will be entering a position that has arisen due to the progression of employees within the business. The vast majority of those in Senior Positions, have risen through the ranks of the procurement function with backing from their decorated training programme, offering CIPS funding to those joining as a Senior Buyer. Progression within the company is based on performance, meaning you have limitless scope to further your career within this procurement function .

The company boast a brilliant culture, working 2 days from home and from their state of the art HQ in the heart of Birmingham City Centre. They place high importance on building relationships with the other members of the procurement team, holding regular socials, with the office situated in a lively part of the city there are many local bars and events to enjoy with your colleagues throughout the year.

Joining a rapidly expanding Buying team, you will be working with leading health care organisations, procuring health/surgical equipment (Dental, Orthodontic, Endoscopy, Laparoscopic, Surgical). This is an exciting, fast paced procurement space, where you will have exposure to revolutionary equipment and industry leading processes within a company that is beginning to monopolise the sector, working with 140+ hospitals to achieve their strategic sourcing objectives.

As a result of this rapid expansion and global reach, you will have access to their vast resources in order to implement your procurement solutions. Utilising their £Multi-Billion spend to ensure the delivery of the direct procurement strategy, you will be managing key stakeholders, who include Public Health Giants amongst others in the private sector. Allowing you to employ your procurement knowledge across their many functions.

You will possess the following qualities:

• Experience in direct aspects of procurement/sourcing
• Medical/Pharmaceutical academic background or relevant experience
• Good understanding of public sector regulations
• Experience in working both private and public sectors of procurement
