This is an exciting opportunity to join a procurement team which provides strategic and technical procurement and tender management services. Our team is focused on offering value for money outcomes, transforming the way services are delivered and driving social value through our tender processes.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment ensuring the smooth delivery of a multitude of procurement projects at any given time. This is a hand on role that requires proactive individual who is willing to learn, share their experience and champion a best practise culture with stakeholders that ensures savings are made through innovative procurement and contract management.

You will need to manage a mixture of strategic and operation procurement projects including above threshold tenders and framework agreements as well as providing timely specialist procurement advice to both senior managers and stakeholders within the organisation including the requirements of the contract procedure rules and all other procurement related legislative requirements including the public procurement directives.

You’ll need to demonstrate experience of running a procurement process from inception through to contract award ns implementation. Previous experience of developing comprehensive fully compliant tender documentation and evaluation criteria is a necessity.

Successful applicants will be enthusiastic, collaborative, and have a can-do attitude when it comes to problem solving and project planning. 

This is a varied and interesting role with opportunities to work with senior leaders and to build experience across a broad range of category areas, including Professional & support Services, Construction & Regeneration, Facilities Management, Waste, Community & Culture, Corporate Resources and IT.

The head office location is at Basildon Borough Council.  We have now assumed a hybrid approach with both office and home based working.
