Procurement Business Partner - Career Graded (3 year fixed)
Warwick District Council is looking for commercially minded individuals to join its busy Procurement Function.
Procurement covers the exciting fields of purchasing and contracts, so whether you have experience buying goods, services or constructions works, or even managing contracts already in place, this could be the perfect role for you.
WDC are offering a 3-year career graded post as a Procurement Business Partner, and will support unqualified applicants in achieving their CIPS level 4 diploma via a Procurement apprenticeship.
As part of a very active District Council, you will be involved in supporting the purchase of everything from stationery, software, theatre shows and gallery exhibitions, to helping implement larger projects including country parks and housing developments. You will also be essential in supporting the Council meeting its Climate Change agenda of being a net zero Council by 2025 and a net zero district by 2030.
We are looking for an environmentally conscious individual with great communication and relationship management skills that would like to be involved in building on a career in procurement and make a real difference in achieving best value for the public purse while supporting the global fight against Climate Change.
As the role is career graded, the post holder is not required to have or be working towards their CIPS qualifications with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply. However, possession of MCIPS qualification will affect what salary point you will be offered. For successful applicants with no CIPS qualifications, you will be expected to undertake a CIPS level 4 apprenticeship as part of the role.
The role is full time, with flexi time and agile working available. The intention is for this jobholder to work from home (though office and hybrid working available if desired); however, it is a requirement of the role that the successful candidate be available to attend meetings at our offices in Royal Leamington Spa when required. Any costs for travel from home to the office will be met by the successful candidate.
Additional benefits: 23 days leave + bank holidays, very generous LGA pension scheme, staff health scheme through BUPA, salary sacrifice electric car scheme, staff benefits discounts and vouchers scheme. Also, continued service applies to public sector candidates.
