We currently have this exciting opportunity to lead the Procurement Team within the Operations Service area. We are seeking a Procurement and Commercial Manager who can secure best value, assist the council ensuring contracts are performing as intended and, where possible, deliver maximum benefit to the businesses and residents of East Suffolk. You will be responsible for achieving best value for money on all procured goods, works and services and reduce the cost of the procurement process, ensuring continuous improvement. You will have influence over and indirect responsibility for around £24 million of expenditure per annum. You will need to grow and develop new business through diversification and expansion to generate a net income for investment in further opportunities and to help offset costs of other activities.
What you will need:
As a member of CIPS, you should be educated to degree level in a relevant field, have significant knowledge of public sector procurement processes and experience of contract monitoring and improvement.
