Job Details

A new and competitive procurement role in the utilities sector to work on large-scale construction and capital projects within the sphere of direct procurement. This organisation has recently experienced a makeover to amplify procurement processes, hone in on commercial growth, and concentrate on sustainability to drive more environmentally friendly processes within the utilities sector. This opportunity will involve the strategic sourcing of new capital works and services and thus would suit an individual with indirect or direct procurement experience across the construction, engineering, manufacturing or defense industry.

You will be working within a strategic and innovative procurement team who is growing exponentially and will be involved with making contractual decisions which promote the companies aims of sustainable growth and commercial management. Key Experience:

  • Track record of timely and effective procurement project delivery
  • Ability to build and maintain productive and trusted working relationships with shareholders, suppliers, and team members
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written to be utilized in processes of influencing and negotiation
  • Experience within similarly related procurement field i.e. construction, engineering, utilities, oil and gas, manufacturing
  • Adaptability when collaborating in cross-team environments

Key responsibilities:

  • Effective communication with suppliers and innovative strategic sourcing of new capital works and services
  • Management and overseeing of projects and contracts to ensure project fulfillment to the highest standards
  • Analysis of risk and cost-benefit within procurement projects, monitoring procurement service contracts and suppliers and assessment of contracts suitability in line with the organisations aims and priorities
  • Working across multidisciplinary teams embodying company values and serving as a role model for team members in order to drive successful relationships across the organisation
