Salary: NHS Band 8a £48,526 to £54,619 a year

Location: Cambridge (hybrid working - 1-2 days per week in the office with the rest home based), some regional travel required.

The Hub is a dynamic organisation, employing professionals from both the public and private sectors. We provide strategic purchasing support, procurement expertise and commercial skills to NHS and public-sector organisations and work in partnership with other regional procurement hubs to harness the benefits of cross-regional collaboration and reduce duplication of effort.

The Hub works collaboratively with three other NHS Procurement Hubs; NHS Commercial Solutions, NHS London Procurement Partnership and NHS North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative delivering value for money solutions to the NHS as the NHS Procurement in Partnership (NHS PiP).

As part of NHS PiP, you will work collaboratively as part of a team, pool expertise and resources to avoid duplication in the market and deliver the best value to our NHS colleagues through a wider range of framework agreements.

We are seeking three proactive procurement professionals with the ability to manage complex stakeholder engagement and work collaboratively with our partners in three key category areas: Workforce, Estates & Digital and Pharmacy & Healthcare.

Workforce

Based within our Workforce category team, you will use your specialist procurement knowledge to develop and deliver innovative health workforce services and frameworks.  Supporting stakeholders, including HR Directors, health systems and individual NHS organisations, and working collaboratively with our partners in the NHS Workforce Alliance, you will have a broad ranging remit which includes developing supporting strategies and reducing agency spend.

Membership of CIPS or an appropriate professional institute or relevant experience is also a requirement whilst knowledge of the agency staffing market would be desirable. 

Estates & Digital

Based within our Estates & Digital category team, you will be working collaboratively with our partners in the NHS Procurement in Partnership to deliver best in class Digital ICT procurement strategies and outcomes for our customers within the Eastern Region.

You will be wholly focused on our Digital or ICT offering and use your specialist procurement knowledge to develop and deliver innovative solutions to meet the Digital/ICT needs of our customers, helping them to align their Digital strategies with the wider NHS.  Supporting stakeholders, including Chief Information Officers, IT Directors, health systems and individual NHS organisations, you will have a broad ranging remit which includes identifying opportunities of collaborative procurement to ensure maximum cost efficiencies for members.

A knowledge of the Digital or ICT market within public sector organisations is desirable.

Pharmacy & Healthcare Services

Based within our Pharmacy & Healthcare Services category team, you will be working collaboratively with our partners in the NHS Procurement in Partnership to deliver best in class Pharmacy & Healthcare Services procurement strategies and outcomes for our customers within the Eastern Region.

You will use your specialist procurement knowledge to develop and deliver innovative solutions to meet the needs of our customers and help align their pharmacy and healthcare services strategies with the wider NHS.  Supporting key stakeholders, including ICB pharmacy leads, chief pharmacists and local pharmacy procurement leads, you will have a broad ranging remit which includes identifying opportunities of collaborative procurement to ensure maximum cost efficiencies for members.

Knowledge of the pharmacy and healthcare services markets within public sector organisations and experience working in a UK pharmacy role is desirable for this post. 

The Candidates

The successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills and be analytical, with strong project and procurement management experience.  With an in-depth knowledge of the entire procurement lifecycle and public sector procurement legislation, you will be able to produce procurement strategies and manage large and complex stakeholder groups.

There will be a requirement to travel to locations within the East of England region on a semi-regular basis and to other national areas occasionally.
