Travel Procurement Category Specialist - FTSE100 Major - £45-50k + Excellent Benefits - London with flex working - Modern Central London
Regarded as one of the best global professional services firms, and winning awards for their Development programs, this FTSE 100 major is seeking a bright and ambitions procurement professional to enter into a newly created role in their indirect team.
The successful individual will be given autonomy to lead strategic category plans across a range of different categories as well as looking specifically into the travel category, partnering with key stakeholders to understand the commercial objectives of the business, before applying procurement principles to achieve the maximum results.
In this role you will be shaping the Travel and Indirect Categories, working hand in hand with the Head of Procurement, liaising with senior key stakeholders. This is a great opportunity to expand your procurement knowledge and hone in on your existing skills,
The successful candidate will have experience across a range of different indirect categories, including but not limited to; Travel and Professional Services. This is also a fantastic opportunity for career development and progression with a clear pathway into senior management.
Procurement Category Manager Responsibilities:
- Managing a large spend across all indirect Procurement subcategories
- Develop new strategies for business development and reporting to senior members as to how the company can develop the Procurement function further
- Negotiate, and create relationships, with internal & external suppliers whilst developing a strong network for each particular market
- Conduct deep research into Travel and Professional Services category and identify how you can generate savings across them
- Manage stakeholder relationships - ensuring a positive working relationship is in place
Key Skills & Experience Sought:
- Strong Indirect and Travel Procurement experience
- Proven track record of managing a large spend and delivering savings
- History of negotiating with the ability to influence decisions in your favour
- Good communication skills with past experience managing supplier and stakeholder relationships
- Friendly, driven person looking to maintain high standards and set an example for self as well as others
- Degree level 2.1 or equivalent (desirable)
- CIPS (desirable)
