Are you a qualified and experienced procurement professional?
We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Procurement Category Manager who will be responsible for procuring and managing supplier relationships to support the development and maintenance of the University’s campus infrastructure.
In determining current and future requirements you will work closely with several key stakeholders within the Campus Infrastructure team.
About you
You will have experience working within the public sector and be confident in building relationships with internal customers and delivering quantifiable benefits back to the organisation.
You will also have:
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (or working towards). Previous experience of planning, tendering, letting, managing and measuring contracts. Knowledge and understanding of legislation affecting the supply of goods and services including UK Contract Law and Public Procurement Regulations. Customer orientated approach to procurement. Experience in procuring from the construction market would be beneficial but is not essential.
About us
You will be joining our Procurement team at the University of Bath, the Times and Sunday Times 'University of the Year 2023'. The role is offered on a full-time basis (36.5hrs per week) for an expected duration of 10 months to provide cover for a period of parental leave.
The role offers you the flexibility to operate hybrid working arrangements. An office base is available within both a city centre location near the Bath Spa train station and on the University’s main campus benefitting from being closer to the stakeholder operation. You can also work remotely with the flexibility to determine your optimum balance of work locations across the week.
