Procurement Manager

We are retained by our client, the States of Guernsey, to recruit into five Procurement Manager posts as a result of a strategic commercial transformation programme. This is an exciting opportunity, to work for a progressive organisation, in a role that will make a tangible and positive difference to the population of Guernsey.

The Opportunity:-

Working in an environment that is not bound by the Public Sector procurement rules, but is committed to the principles of fairness, transparency and value for money, this is a great opportunity to work closely with Senior Civil Servants, Government officials, key stakeholders and suppliers to provide commercial leadership and support in the procurement of diverse goods and services.

Across the five Procurement Manager vacancies there are opportunities to work either on cross-service / common goods and services category strategies, or to be more ‘on the ground’ providing direct support for committee (department / directorate) specific procurement activities in areas such as Health and Social Care, Home Affairs (inc. Blue light services), Trading Assets (inc. utilities, airports, ports) etc.

Key candidate criteria:-

• Practical procurement sourcing and/or category manager experience that has been gained from either a public or private sector environment A commercial approach, with the ability to challenge the ethos, influence and deliver best value A pro-active business partnering / stakeholder engagement approach, across both internal clients and the supplier community. Flexibility, curiosity and the adaptability to potentially work across a number of different spend areas.

These roles attract a salary of up to £60267, as well as an excellent benefits package which includes both relocation & accommodation support.
