Due to our continuous expansion we are currently recruiting a Buyer to work at our Headoffice based in Welwyn Garden City.
Main duties include:
· Setting up and monitoring all documentation for buying
· Procurement functions including procuring materials, conducting bids, supplier negotiation and processing orders.
· Identifying potential new suppliers
· Monitoring supply chain and upgrading suppliers to preferred status when necessary
· Ensure savings, rebates and compliance are achieved in line with project strategy
· Negotiating prices and terms with suppliers
· Liaising with relevant departments for stock levels and supplies
· Obtaining quotations from existing approved suppliers
· Research and develop new product sourcing options as necessary
· Check shipments when they arrive to ensure that orders have been filled correctly and that goods meet specifications
· Communicate regularly with management keeping them abreast with products, prices, deliveries
· Communicating any issues with materials
· Ensuring parts and materials are meeting deadlines and quality standards
· General administration duties related to orders, deliveries and payment of supplies
Requirements:
· Buying / Procurement experience within the construction industry desired but not essential
· Understanding of building materials, their uses and how they are sold is desirable
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· IT skills – MS Office, Excel, Outlook, Word etc
· Ability to work under pressure and prioritize your workload
· Confident, Self-motivated & Enthusiastic
· Flexible & adaptable. Ability to work both alone and as part of a team
