We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our ambitious Team. We need you manage a small team and lead the procurement function across the Council to ensure maximum value for money, embed good practice, drive innovation, and deliver social value delivering the best possible outcomes for local people.
You will actively manage risk and ensure compliance throughout the end-to-end procurement process, including providing market knowledge, sourcing, tendering and contract management support & advice to all Council departments.
You will hold the MCIPS qualification with significant experience in procurement or a related area, including some experience in contract management in a professional capacity. You will also have knowledge of current local government finance and procurement procedures together with all types of construction Contracts. With effective communication skills, you will be able to work under pressure while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
We are pleased to offer this vacancy as either a full-time position (37 hours per week) or on a part time basis, potentially for up to two successful candidates. Please indicate in the additional information section of your application your preferred hours of work per week.
