Procurement Category Manager - Transformation FMCG Company

This FMCG Company recently went through a successful transformation process and now they're looking for a Procurement Category Manager with end-to-end Procurement experience!

Their Procurement team see year-on-year innovation, growth, and employee progression with the help of their people development programme.

This role has come into fruition through team expansion and it's important to the team to find someone who can confidently manage end to end procurement including, managing category spends of up to £90m and projects beyond the process, building and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers, internal teams and working on cross-functional projects.

Their main objectives are to find someone who they can professionally invest in, provide training to, and eventually progress into senior leadership.

The perfect candidate will have experience of progression from a Senior Buyer to a Category/Procurement Manager in their current or previous roles to transfer over to this new opportunity.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Building out category management strategies for a variety of indirect and direct procurement categories.
  • Negotiating terms to deliver on £multimillion projects by cultivating effective relationships with existing internal and external suppliers.
  • Develop new strategies for business growth and taking the initiative on large-scale projects to drive forward the transformation.
  • Conduct in-depth research into FMCG categories and identifying new areas to generate savings and develop the category.

Key skills and experience needed:

  • Great category management and end-to-end procurement.
  • Exposure to similar fast-paced industries such as, Retail, FMCG or Food Manufacturing.
  • History of negotiating with the ability to influence decisions in your favour.
  • Good communication skills with experience managing supplier and stakeholder relationships.
  • Friendly, driven individual with professionally high standards, ambition, and commitment.
