Are you an experienced commercial professional who has led and managed complex contracts and procurement exercises? Here at the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) we are recruiting two Heads of Category to join the commercial team within our Finance Directorate; one leading on digital category and the other leading on the operations and central functions for the CPS. 

This is an ideal time to join the CPS commercial team, who are expanding and developing their function to deliver a wide-ranging, transformative commercial strategy. The commercial team play a vital part through working with customers, suppliers, and markets to ensure our diverse range of services are provided to the highest quality and deliver excellent value for money.  

In the role of Head of Category you will be a member of the commercial leadership team, leading on commercial response, contracts, commercial excellence and end to end process of Category management. You will be implementing and maintaining processes to ensure category and contract procurements are conducted in line with procurement regulations and policy. Ensuring that we are delivering cost savings, value for money, quality control and robust commercial outcomes. 

We are seeking individuals who will bring their experience of developing and delivering supplier management strategies, being an expert commercial advisor to stakeholders, advocating the benefits of category management. You will have strong, effective communication and influencing skills to delivery strategy development and implementation within your Category remit. Having  drive and ambition alongside pro-active thinking will be key in this role, working in a complex and challenging environment to resolve commercial issues.
