Role: Category Specialist - IT

Firm: UK Leading Financial Services Firm

Location: North London/ Hybrid

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + Package (Car Allowance)

This financial services firm based in North London are looking at expand their team and onboard a Procurement Category Specialist within the IT Category, with a focus on software, hardware, IT services and telco as subcategories. Their procurement function is made up of 25 professionals who work in a collaborative, inclusive manner, regardless of seniority. This in turn has made them an award winning function, recognised by CIPS.

IT Category Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Support and co-create category strategy/ plans for each IT subcategory - using market, supplier and spend analysis.
  • Handle multiple work streams with your manager. This includes strategic, low volume, high risk and complexity projects, as well as, tactical, high volume, low risk and duration projects.
  • Work on procurement documentation, drafting and issuing RFX documents, bid analysis, negotiating contractual and commercial terms and prepare all approval recommendations.
  • Work with senior stakeholders, building and maintaining trusting, professional relationships - building your personal and teams credibility.
  • Manage current suppliers, alongside onboarding and scoping new suppliers within the IT category.

Key Experience / Skills for this role:

  • 5+ years within any or multiple of the IT procurement sub-categories.
  • Ability to demonstrate experience in procurement strategy development, support, or co-creation.
  • Proven experience and success in procurement operations and processes, such as systems, procedures/regulations, third parties, governance or legal. An advantage point would be having experience in Globality, SAP or Ariba.
  • Excellent organisation skills - ability to handle multiple work streams.
