Infrastructure Procurement Specialist - Global Infrastructure Firm - £40,000 - £45,000 - Crawley

Contract type: Permanent

About the company

They are the UK's most established infrastructure firm and leaders in their industry, with decades of experience working with global companies in the Middle East and Africa; they have a plethora of departments that specialist in purchasing goods for Mining, Oil & Gas and Infrastructure on global projects.

You will be one of the first members going into the Infrastructure team. This will provide you with ample opportunity for fast professional growth to being one of the most senior people in the team.

Your responsibilities as a Construction Procurement Specialist:

Reporting into: COO and Procurement Manager

  • Purchasing infrastructure materials such as (but not limited to) tiles, concrete, bricks, wood, metal
  • Negotiating with international suppliers on contractual terms and agreements (such as pricing, project deadlines)
  • Managing, monitoring and reporting on sales orders to ensure the Supply Chain team are able to measure against KPIs
  • Managing relationships with new and existing suppliers and key stakeholders.
  • Accurately populating and maintaining supplier framework and following up with suppliers and wider Procurement team to ensure projects are executed to agreed timings

Key skills required as a Construction Procurement Specialist

  • Previous Procurement experience within the construction industry purchasing tangible materials
  • Experience in optimising costs, cost avoidance and savings
  • Compliance experience (i.e. drafting/reviewing contracts to ensure they are adhering to company policies and procedures)
  • Great communication skills (fluency in English)
  • Profiency using MS Office Suite

Desired, not essential

  • Experience working in the hospitality industry
  • French or Arabic speaking
