This top UK consultancy is seeking an exceptional and dynamic professional with a strong background in procurement to lead and expand the company's Aerospace and Defence procurement operations. Role Overview:
As the Procurement Director, your primary responsibility will be to generate and support sales of £2-3 million per annum through lead generation and business development in the Aerospace and Defence sector. You will leverage your expertise to drive the commercialization of the company's existing and new procurement technologies, providing valuable insights to clients. Leading a team of professionals, you will inspire and manage them to achieve individual growth and exceptional team performance. Your role will contribute to sustaining recurring revenue streams from new and existing clients by leveraging the company's renowned delivery frameworks. Additionally, you will develop and execute the procurement R&D strategy and stay up to date on market trends.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Generate and support sales of £2-3 million per annum.
- Conduct lead generation activities to identify potential clients.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the Aerospace and Defence sector.
- Leverage your expertise to drive the commercialization of procurement technologies.
Team Leadership:
- Lead a team of procurement professionals at various levels.
- Inspire and manage the team to achieve individual growth and exceptional performance.
- Set and monitor KPIs to ensure the team's success.
Procurement Strategy:
- Develop and execute the procurement R&D strategy.
- Stay up to date on market trends and industry best practices.
- Identify opportunities to embed the company's procurement capabilities within clients' operations.
Relationship Building:
- Engage with C-suite executives to foster strong relationships.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing strategic procurement insights.
- Negotiate and influence key stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.
Requirements:
- Thorough development within consulting and/or procurement management.
- Extensive experience in business development, business intelligence, and revenue generation.
- Knowledge and application of procurement/supply chain cost transformation techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership within procurement projects, particularly in the Aerospace and Defence sector.
- Proficiency in utilizing BI dashboards and ETL tools.
- Clear evidence of sales experience.
- Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, science, or economics.
- Ongoing learning and professional development.
- An MBA or master's degree (or equivalent) is desirable.
