Fixing the broken tap at a remote radar site on the Falklands Islands involved a 45-minute helicopter ride for one of the Interserve maintenance team, who was dropped in a field and told they’d be back for him in an hour. “This is such a unique contract,” says Andy Pick, the support company’s head of procurement for central government and defence.
