APUC (Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges) has developed a framework agreement to provide legal services to educational establishments.

The centre for procurement expertise for Scotland’s universities and colleges was asked by the UK higher and further education sectors and the UK university purchasing consortia to create a national framework agreement to provide legal services required by the higher and further education sectors in Scotland, England and Wales.

“With spend in the tens of millions across the UK, it is an area where it was felt collaborative procurement could make a positive impact in terms of better standards of service and value for money,” said APUC in a statement.

The framework agreement will run for three years, with the potential for a 12-month extension. Contractors appointed to the framework were selected based on their ability to provide high levels of expertise in the technical legal services typically required by the HE and FE and value for money, said APUC.
