Streamlined Ofgem welcomes CIPS accolade

8 June 2015

Achieving CIPS Corporate Certification – Standard has both streamlined processes at Ofgem and made them effective and efficient in order to support the wider organisation.

Geoff Hopper, head of procurement at the government regulator for the energy sector, said the organisation is able to “locate records easier, in particular for audits. We are also achieving greater cashable savings.”

The Corporate Certification – Standard Award recognises robust, effective governance and that demonstrable procurement governance mechanisms were in place for effective supply assurance and compliance.

“Ofgem went for CIPS Corporate Certification to demonstrate the professionalism of our procurement function and evidence that we are in the ‘best in class’ category,” Hopper added.

He hoped the award would provide both credibility to the organisation and be an “accolade the team can refer to on their CVs”.
