Farmers facing 'vast array' of regulations

Farmers in Australia face “a vast and complex array of regulations… at every stage of the supply chain,” a report has said.

The Australian Government’s Productivity Commission, a government research and advisory body released the draft report.

Reducing the regulatory burdens was particularly important for the farming sector, the report said, because of its “high dependence on international markets” and because most Australian farms are small businesses.
