Facebook, bribes and the Great Barrier Reef – the supply chain in numbers

The value of each Tesla share after they shot up by more than 3% over the last few months. The automaker has overtaken General Motors (GM) and Ford to become the most valuable American car manufacturer. GM’s shares are worth $33.97 and Ford’s are worth just $11.25 per share. This leaves the electric car manufacturer with a market capitalisation of $51.53bn, more than $1bn above GM.

Toshiba has put part of its valuable memory chip unit up for sale to plug a gap in its finances made after its US nuclear unit, Westinghouse, filed for bankruptcy protection last month. Toshiba is the world’s second largest chip manufacturer, with its products used in data centres and consumer goods worldwide, including iPhones and iPads.
