The market for drones services in the GCC region will be worth $1.5bn by 2022, according to a report by the consultancy Strategy&.
Strategy& said much of the predicted $1.5bn figure, which excludes drone procurement, could come from oil and gas, and utilities. These are respectively projected to constitute 43% and 32% of the market.
However the report predicted that much of the demand for drones could come from telecoms operators, because of their capabilities in connectivity, cloud, big data, and analytics. It said that the telecom sector could contribute $27bn to the overall market.
