The post of supply chain manager is the second highest paying job you can get without a degree, according to a recruitment firm.

Adzuna said a supply chain manager could earn £45,928 without a degree, second only to a pensions manager, who can earn £47,430.

Purchasing manager was also in the top 10, with a salary of £39,836.

In a blog Adzuna said: “Although some people go into supply chain management with a relevant degree, many more do not.

“With an average salary of £45,928, this is another career where earning qualifications on the job will help you progress.”

The recruiter compared the average salaries of hundreds of jobs in its database of more than 1.2m job ads to produce the ranking.

“No degree is no problem if you want to become a purchasing manager,” said Adzuna.

“Lots of companies just want to see you gain experience within their purchasing department before applying for the top job, and many offer in-house training.”
