Australia’s high living standards cannot be sustained without a major boost in infrastructure spending, the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has warned.
In a document outlining its recommendations for this year’s federal budget, ACCI said it was “concerned that productivity-enhancing infrastructure that is critical to Australia’s growth [would] not be built, particularly as the economic growth outlook moderates and interest rates are low”.
