The government of New Zealand has been accused of leaving “the hand break on” over the purchasing of electric vehicles (EVs).
In the six months since the government announced plans to double the number of EVs in the country every year till 2021, only eight of the 2,039 vehicles it has purchased were electric. This is just under 0.4% of the total.
