The South African government has revised its procurement regulations designed to empower disadvantaged groups.
Under the new rules, public sector tenders under R50m will be judged on a weighted criteria that gives price and socio-economic aims an 80/20 balance respectively. Tenders worth more than R50m will be judged on a 90/10 system.
