Australia joins global battery factory race

Plans to build lithium-ion battery plants in Australia are gaining pace, with at least two proposals on the table for giant factories in Queensland and the Northern Territory.

A consortium led by Boston Energy and Innovation announced that it had selected a site for a planned factory in the Townsville area, northeast of Queensland.
