A Canadian shipment of port to China that has tested positive for a banned growth drug could hit trade with the world’s biggest importer.
China said it viewed the tainted shipment as a “systemic failure” of Canada’s programme that certifies pork sent to China is ractompamine-free and the situation “could affect future pork exports,” according to an email from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) circulated to the industry.
