An Australian government procurement bill has been introduced into federal Parliament that will give suppliers the right to challenge processes and recover tendering costs.
Under the proposed Government Procurement (Judicial Review) Bill 2017, if any supplier “whose interests are affected” has reason to believe a procuring body is or is proposing to engage in conduct that violates the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), they can make a complaint, which must be investigated by the accountable authority of the procuring body.
