Beef exporters are set to gain an additional $400m a year in a new trade agreement with China that makes Australia the first country to have full access to the Asian megamarket’s beef sector.
The deal, which expands chilled beef market access from 11 exporters to all eligible Australian exporters, was one of a number of bilateral agreements signed by Australia and China during the visit of Chinese premier Li Keqiang.
