China powers up to lead global battery market

China has thrown its full weight into boosting the nation's electric vehicle (EV) sales with a series of aggressive policies aimed at dominating the global battery market.

The government’s Vehicle Traction Battery Industrial Development Action Plan, rolled out this month, aims to encourage local battery manufacturers to invest in capacity expansion and to strengthen through consolidation.
