Ghana is to embark on a drive to build huge numbers of private toilets after the World Bank threatened to withdraw funding over lack of progress on sanitation.
Just weeks after the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area (GAMA) Sanitation and Water Project pledged to provide 5,000 toilets to households, minister of sanitation Kofi Adda promised to build 1m private toilets across the country.
