South Africa’s finance minister Malusi Gigaba has pledged to use the state’s R500bn annual procurement budget “strategically” to transform the economy and provide more support for black-owned businesses.
Gigaba told a business dinner: “The strategic use of state procurement is an important lever to grow black business.”
