Australian’s demand for avocado is set to increase prices to over $4 as retailers and restaurants compete for short supply, according to an industry group.
Avocados Australia said in some parts of Australia, supermarket prices had already risen from $2 or less per avocado to $3.50 or more since the middle of the year, even though annual demand usually peaks in February.
