Higher procurement costs have prompted two of Japan’s largest sushi conveyor belt restaurant chains to merge.
Akindo Sushiro, which operates Japan’s largest conveyor belt sushi chain, and Genki Sushi, the fifth largest chain, said the move would allow them to negotiate lower prices for fish.
