Global manufacturing companies are scrambling to check the safety of their products after it emerged they had been supplied with falsely certified metal.
Kobe Steel, Japan’s third biggest steel maker, announced that around 4% of the aluminium and copper products it shipped from September 2016 to August 2017 were falsely labelled as meeting specifications requested by customers.
