China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) stands accused of being a strategy to further the country’s political and military aims, according to a report.
The report, by US think tank C4ADS, said though not officially stated by the Chinese government, the pattern and nature of investments in ports across the Indo-Pacific region indicate political advantage is more important than profit generation and developmental goals.
