BMW and Nissan have become the latest car manufacturers to be pulled into an Australian class action lawsuit over their use of Takata airbags, which have been linked to 18 deaths around the world.
Last year, Sydney lawyer Damian Scattini, from law firm Quinn Emanuel, announced the Federal Court action against Toyota, Honda, Subaru and Mazda to seek refunds based on Australian consumer law that entitles consumers to refunds if a product has a fault that makes it unsafe and cannot be rectified within a reasonable time.
